Fashion // A Wardrobe Full of Basics

Top: Zara, Skirt: River Island, Coat: Primark, Boots: Primark

Wardrobe basics... now where do I start? Basics are key pieces that everyone and their man and dog should own, they are so versatile and tie outfits together. For me, these are something that I never really raved about, they always seemed a little boring and I just could never style a plain top; I understand how silly that sounds but I always felt like; A- I was trying far too hard or B - I just looked extremely frumpy and boring!

But true basics do not need to be boring, think outside the box and be a little more daring which is something that I have learnt over the past month after a little trip into Zara and finding this beaut striped tee.

After my other half bought me the grey v-neck t-shirt from the Ivy Park range in Topshop for my birthday last year and I have not stopped wearing it making me realise how vital it is to own basics but also I now love a good v-neck and don't mind to have a little cleavage on show - after all I turn 24 soon!!

I am still on the lookout for more basic tee's, it may take time and a few stressful shopping sprees but I am determined build up my collection and have fun styling them up.

Fashion // Serial Outfit Repeater

Denim Shirt: Topshop, Jeans: River Island, Bomber Jacket: Primark, Boots: Primark, Sunglasses: River Island, Bag: Topshop

I've had the bloggers block for quite some time which left me deliberating whether or not I should actually continue to blog, how should I struggle so much with creating content and outfit planning so easy?

The time had come to dress for me and stop trying so hard, it can get extremely easy to get so caught up in a world which has so many opinions. For me, I had strolled too far out of my comfort zone; I for one am willing to push myself and try new things but I had strayed a little too far too quick. It was time to revert back to my favourite items and become an outfit repeater; after all if Kate Middleton can do this then so can I.

On my down days, I have never felt so comfortable than hiding myself in a pair of black skinny jeans and an oversized denim shirt. I've actually blogged this look within the past year, hence the 'Serial Outfit Repeater' but I just love the fact that you can make outfit look completely different by styling it with different accessories and now I feel that I have got my blogging mojo back.

Fashion // The Zara Embroidered Blouse

Blouse: Zara, Jeans: Primark, Trainers: Nike at Asos, Sunglasses: Primark

I love how much this blouse makes me feel super summery and very happy for the warmer months.

This beauty is the perfect staple piece to own in your wardobe this spring/summer, who cares if every man and his dog owns it, it is absolutely stunning and needs to be shown off. Zara seem to pull it out the bag every year with one or two key pieces in each of their seasonal collections and this year they have blown it out of the water!!

I love how delicate the embroidery is, it screams spring without a shadow of a doubt with the focus on leaves rather than bold roses which seems to be the key theme throughout all brands.

It is quite shapeless with the style and cut, the seam between the top half of the blouse to the peplum (and I am using that word very lightly) cuts right across the bust and then the lower half just sticks out. Plus the frills around the shoulders can make you look a little broader, but for some reason it seems to work and I love the way it fits.

I went for quite a casual look, it may have been sunny on the day I took the photos but the wind was quite chilly, I love the way it pairs with my skinny jeans and my khaki trainers.

Do you own this top?
