I’m obsessed with this outfit, it might not look like I have
put a lot of thought into it but there is something beautiful about pairing
denim together, long gone are the days of it being a major fashion faux pas
(writing this post makes me think back to the famous picture of David and
Victoria Beckhams rocking the double denim couples outfit).
I love the contrast of the shades and fabrics of both denim
pieces being teamed together, the light blue denim shirt which is more of a
boyfriend, looser fit style to the black skinny jeans which are skin tight and heavier
denim.
The wash of the shirt
ties in so well with the rips of the jeans to give that edgier and causal feel
dressed up with my favourite black heels from Topshop. I feel like this could
be my go to look this autumn, teaming them with a mahoosive patterned scarf,
sunglasses and handbag – perf combo!! If you don’t see any more outfit posts
you know I’m just rocking this look every day.
If you have been following me for some time, you will
understand that I have never been the biggest fan of jeans, I’ve always been
more of a leggings kinda gal due to the fact that they are super soft and
stretchy and well just very forgiving to a girl who loves food.
For me jeans are
tight, shrink in the wash never forgiving and just spend their day digging into
your waist causing crippling pain (well for a chubster like me). To get them to feel comfortable around my
waist they were always baggy around my legs (I only like the skinny jeans) and
could never find the perfect pair. After a bit of weight loss I can whoop and
holla that I can proudly fit into a pair of skinny jeans in a size 12, from
River Island and fit like a glove!!
I feel like having a slab of cake to celebrate but that is
kind of defeating the goal.
