The Perfect A-Line Denim Skirt

Skirt - h&m, Top - Primark, Boots - Zara

My love for denim has grown over the past few months I've gone from hating my legs in a pair of skinny jeans because of my thunder thighs and constantly living in tights and black leggings to owning four pairs of skinny jeans, two denim skirts and a denim jacket.

This denim skirt will certainly become a timeless staple piece in my wardrobe this Spring (I only got it on Thursday), the A-Line structure is super flattering for most figures cinching you in around the waist and then it flows beautifully over your bum, hips and thighs. The gold stitching and buttons are the perfect contrast to the blue denim which is super versatile as it will go with pretty much any top out there. I know I am going to get an awful lot of wear out of this heading into Summer.

First Impressions - The Beauty Edit

I have been trying out these two products every day for over a month and I am absolutely in love with both of them!!

One small confession, the Benefit Roller Lash is a product I am familiar with, when it was first released I got the miniscule tester free in a magazine and fell in love with it then, however, it is tricky to get a good impression of something so small. When browsing in my local Debenhams I noticed that you could get a free deluxe mini version of the mascara with the full size roller lash for the same price to celebrating its first birthday!! (Obviously I cracked and bought it!!)

The Hook 'n' Roll brush is so delicate, dainty and perfect to separate and lift the lashes and give them a natural everyday look. If you are a fan of volumising mascara then I would say this product maybe not for you, but you could always team it with another mascara to add the volume which is something I do on the odd occasion if I am wanting the thicker look.

I love trialing a new foundation, especially when it is a drugstore product and so affordable. At the moment as I am struggling with troublesome and oily skin I am reaching for a matte heavy duty foundation to hide the imperfections. This Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation which is the sister to the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, mattifies the skin but is extremely hydrating (hence the name) and blends beautifully into the skin without leaving a waxy layer on the face like other matte foundations.

It is build-able too so you can choose whether you want a thin layer or go for the heavier look but both cover imperfections and redness extremely well. I moisturise my face and then put a primer on before applying the foundation and 98% of the time it lasts the whole day which ticks all the boxes for me. If you are wanting to try it yourself I would go for the shade darker than what you are used to, I bought it in 10 Ivory and it is pretty much the perfect match to my skin tone.

Have you tried either of these products? I would love to know what you think of them.

February Favourites

We may be half way through March (where is this year going to?!) but its still acceptable to post my February Favourites right?

There weren't too many products that I fell in love with, I felt like it was a month of trialing new items and trying to fall back in love with ones I have not used in a while, hence the Make Up Revolution contour and blusher palette.

Vichy is a brand that I have never tried before but have always read a lot of great reviews from other bloggers. You may have been aware from previous posts, but I am suffering with ridiculously bad break outs that just never want to go away, so I needed to give a new skincare routine a whirl. This Vichy Normaderm deep cleansing gel is fantastic, first of all it has a pump - who doesn't like a pump?!

This product is great if you have oily and imperfection-prone skin (yeah I tick all of these boxes), it helps to cleanse and unblock pores to help achieve clear skin. I can certainly say that it does clear the bores as my breakouts have slowed down and only have a couple troublesome spots at one time.

I am also loving the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder, as I have oily skin I need a bit of powder to set the foundation and stop my t-zone going shiny throughout the day. The only downside to powder is that it can look a bit cakey but this Vichy setting powder is very light, it glides on easy and the overall finish is just perfect!

Recently I have been reaching for the Make Up Revolution Sculpt and Contour kit, whats better than three different products in one small palette?! It is very pigmented but it is a great product to blend which is perfect for days at work where I want a more natural look.

Onto the miscellaneous products; I am a lover of candles and when you can own a candle which has the scent from my favourite flowers; Peonies, then it has to be added in my monthly favourites. I could literally burn this all day every day for the rest of my life and it is pink!!!

It is fairly difficult to pin point what my favourite sent it as it depends on what mood I am in to which perfume I want to wear for the day. However, this Emporio Armani She perfume is something I keep going back to its strange but the almond and cedar wood gives it that hint of a spicier and richer smell which smells delicious!!

Have any of these products been included in your February Favorites?

Primark Lipstick Crayon Review

When it comes to discovering a make up brand where their products are at affordable prices, my intention is to put the products to the test, I am a lover of picking up beauty products that don't cause a dent in my purse for every day wear.

Primark have had launched the PS.. beauty line which has been in stores for a few years now but I always seemed a little bit of a snob and thought they would be far too cheap and tacky ... fast forward two years later I took a slight change in heart, with the help of a few bloggers.

I only purchased two products; the Lip Liner Pencil in Nude and the Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon also in Nude. My initial worry was that both nibs were going to be hard which would make the application very difficult. However, they were the complete opposite, they are fairly creamy which makes it easy to apply and they are both very pigmented.

The swatches on my arm a quite different shades than what show on my lips, they both have orange undertones but the lip pencil is much more of a beige/orange shade and the crayon was a pinker shade. Once on the lips they blend beautifully and remind me a lot of the Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick, I am looking forward to trying out more of their beauty products.
