Be Bold This Valentines Day

Valentines Day is just around the corner, so I thought it would be the perfect time to have a play with my make up and create a look based around a red lip, something girly, sophisticated but glamorous, you are heading on a date after all. When can you get away with wearing dramatic lashes with a bold red lip?!

If your not into the mushy love stuff then you could rock this red lip and cat flick eyeliner on a girls night drinking cocktails and dancing the night away.

I really wanted to focus on a look that was a mix of day to night, if you were heading on a date to the cinema, meal or just lounging at home watching a film whilst stuffing your face with your body weight in food then you could rock this make up look with a pair of jeans a t-shirt, or you could dress it up with curls and a little black dress for a night on the town.

Just look at that glow on the cheekbone!!

As I am struggling with fairly bad break outs I reached for a longer wearing and a higher coverage foundation, Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation is my go to base product when I have something important to attend, being gel based it sticks to the skin better and you can build it up as much as you like.

The Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Concealer is fantastic if you have a lot of redness and spots, it is extremely heavy duty and very creamy so blends perfectly over the troubled areas. Plus it i great for those dark bags under your eyes (mine are that crazy, nothing will conceal them!)

My eyes were the main focus alongside my lips, I'm not one for wearing a lot of eye liner, this is partly down to the fact that I am not good at applying it at all, it just become extremely messy and results in bad make up days. I created a very thick winged liner (not that you can tell with these lashes) using a cheap liquid liner from W7. I then used a little bit of the Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara to add some length to my top and bottom lashes before adding the Tanya Burr False Eyelashes, I'm not too sure which ones they were as I got them in her advent calendar. For my brows I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Promade in Ash Brown.

Recently I picked up the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder from Boots, for some reason it was part of the 3 for 2 Skincare which is still happening!! I love this powder, it is great to put under my eyes and troubled areas to lock in my foundation and concealer.

I contoured my face using the L'Oreal Glam Bronze Duo Sun Powder in Bronze just under my cheekbones and around the top of my forehead to add a bit of colour and shape to my face. Then I popped a bit of the contour onto the highest point of my cheekbones before going over this with my Make Up Revolution Highlight Palette.
Finally on my lips I used the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl, it is such a beautiful warm red with slight purple undertones. It has to be one of my favourite lip products I have ever owned, I just never find the right time to wear it.

I'd love to hear what you think to this look? Have you created a look for Valentines Day?
