The Denim Shirt Edit

Denim Shirt: Topshop, Top: H&M, Jeans: New Look, Boots: Primark, Coat: New Look

This denim shirt from Topshop has to be the key item in my wardrobe right now, I'd say it is my favourite piece in years and that is a bold statement to make. It was a 'risky' present for my birthday from my other half this year, we say 'risky' because he never EVER buys me any clothes and I certainly have to give him top marks for it, you really have to prize it away from me, if I could I would go to bed wearing it.

It's got a mix between your typical denim fabric of being stiff and thick quality around the seams, button holes, cuffs and pockets but the main body of the fabric is soft and stretchy making it lightweight and slouchy.

I absolutely love this shirt, its super versatile and can be worn open as I have in the images above with a top underneath, can be worn over the top of a dress or buttoned up for a more smarter look. As it is a much softer denim and a paler shade of blue I've taken the risk and gone for a double denim look by teaming it with my ripped black jeans. However I have broken it up with a black top underneath and an over sized checked scarf.

(And yes, my feet killed walking around London for the whole day in these boots!)

Treat Yourself to a Pamper Night

Every once in a while you have got to treat yourself to a pamper night to relax, de stress and just wash any worries you may have away.

Sunday night, I decided to light a candle, make myself a lovely bubble bath and have a little pamper routine. My skin is in quite poor condition at the moment, I have broken out so much, it is very tired and the circles under my eyes are just ridiculous - some of this is down to poor diet and lack of sleep I have to admit.

I'm still working on a skincare routine so please don't slap my wrists for the fact that I have used two cleansers (use monkey with hands over face emoji). I firstly used the 'nspa' cleansing gel to remove my make up - it is a thick, oily substance so it really sticks to the make up and helps it glide off the face. I then used my newest product which is the Nip and Fab glycolic cleanser, I've always wanted to try this brand - and maybe it has a reason to Kylie Jenner advertising it once on her Instagram. It such a thick, oily and tacky texture which blends better with a damp face and smells like grapefruit so you have got to like it. I have noticed a huge difference to my skin since using this product.

The next step was to use the face mask, to say it is calming clay, I wasn't so sure about this the first time I used it, my face felt like it was on fire. But I stuck at it and used it again on Sunday and I may have been a little over dramatic, there are four ingredients to targets different areas:
  1. Aloe Vera - help to reduce skin inflammation and provides moisture
  2. Oatmeal - helps relieve skin dryness and discomfort
  3. Chamomile Extract - helps soothe and calm sensitive skin
  4. Rose Extract - helps minimise redness caused by enlarged capillaries

After this I went back to my usual routine of using the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush body scrub, washed my hair and covered myself in a lot of lotions to try and beat this fatigued and dry skin, all of them from the brand Soap & Glory.

What else better than to snuggle up on the settee with my favourite blanket from Primark, a big glass of water to hydrate the skin and then paint my nails. I never go for a red nail polish, it's a little out of my comfort zone but for some reason I am absolutely loving this Ted Baker red shade, its so easy to apply and lasts for days.

It would be great to hear what products you like using in your pamper routine. Let me know in the comments or on Twitter.

Details - Homewares

Since moving into my own flat earlier on this year I have been obsessed with shopping for homewares, for me it is down to the small details which makes a house (or in my case a flat) a home.

Interior design has kind of become my thing, shopping for clothes is on the back burner and picking up cute little decorative items and accessories to make my flat look cosy and pretty is now on the agenda.

I just wanted to share with you little snippets of my favourite items in my flat, you will begin to notice a little bit of a theme - but hey, we are all guilty of that at some point.

Like I mentioned above about a theme... I think it is safe to say that I have a bit of a thing for the colour bronze (who doesn't, every blogger owns something bronze right?!), it is bang on trend for 2015 and will only get even more popular as we head into next year.

The Longline Sleeveless Jacket

Hat - H&M, Top - River Island, Trousers - Primark, Waistcoat - Primark, Boots - Primark

I am slightly obsessed with long-line sleeveless jackets - technically they are a waistcoat right?!

They are extremely versatile and have become a major fashion statement in many wardrobes this autumn! I picked this one up in Primark a few months ago from the work section and it hardly dented my bank balance which is even better (it means I can add plenty more to my collection).

This particular jacket is fairly soft and loose fitting with two large pockets on the front, a lapel and a belt. If you are feeling a bit daring you could give it a whirl and wear it as a dress - expect a very low cut v and a lot of skin on show. I tend to wear it open with the tie fastening around the metal belt loops on each side - this cinches it in around my waistline showcasing my curves a little bit. Once we head further into winter and much colder weather you could wear it over the top of thick knitter jumpers.

I just love how one day you can wear it for work and the next day throw it on over a loose t-shirt and jeans.
