The Denim Shirt Edit

Denim Shirt: Topshop, Top: H&M, Jeans: New Look, Boots: Primark, Coat: New Look

This denim shirt from Topshop has to be the key item in my wardrobe right now, I'd say it is my favourite piece in years and that is a bold statement to make. It was a 'risky' present for my birthday from my other half this year, we say 'risky' because he never EVER buys me any clothes and I certainly have to give him top marks for it, you really have to prize it away from me, if I could I would go to bed wearing it.

It's got a mix between your typical denim fabric of being stiff and thick quality around the seams, button holes, cuffs and pockets but the main body of the fabric is soft and stretchy making it lightweight and slouchy.

I absolutely love this shirt, its super versatile and can be worn open as I have in the images above with a top underneath, can be worn over the top of a dress or buttoned up for a more smarter look. As it is a much softer denim and a paler shade of blue I've taken the risk and gone for a double denim look by teaming it with my ripped black jeans. However I have broken it up with a black top underneath and an over sized checked scarf.

(And yes, my feet killed walking around London for the whole day in these boots!)

The Longline Sleeveless Jacket

Hat - H&M, Top - River Island, Trousers - Primark, Waistcoat - Primark, Boots - Primark

I am slightly obsessed with long-line sleeveless jackets - technically they are a waistcoat right?!

They are extremely versatile and have become a major fashion statement in many wardrobes this autumn! I picked this one up in Primark a few months ago from the work section and it hardly dented my bank balance which is even better (it means I can add plenty more to my collection).

This particular jacket is fairly soft and loose fitting with two large pockets on the front, a lapel and a belt. If you are feeling a bit daring you could give it a whirl and wear it as a dress - expect a very low cut v and a lot of skin on show. I tend to wear it open with the tie fastening around the metal belt loops on each side - this cinches it in around my waistline showcasing my curves a little bit. Once we head further into winter and much colder weather you could wear it over the top of thick knitter jumpers.

I just love how one day you can wear it for work and the next day throw it on over a loose t-shirt and jeans.
