Beauty // L'Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Foundation

After seeing countless adverts from fellow bloggers, a few celebrities pop up all over my social media advertising the new Infallible Total Cover Foundation from L'Oreal Paris, I knew I had to get my hands on it straight away to try it out.

I couldn't wait for the weekend to come, so a trip to my local supermarket at 8pm at night in my pj's in the hope to pick the foundation up is acceptable right?

I'm already a huge fan of the Infallible range and my all time favourite foundations are the fuller coverage and matte base so this Total Cover Foundation was something that I desperately needed to try and put to the test.

My very first impressions were fairly positive, the consistency is pretty thick but is so smooth and velvety making it blend beautifully on the skin. I am not sure I have ever had a foundation like it. Going against beauty rules (sorry, you can slap me on my wrists) I applied it with the tips of my fingers as I wanted to get a real feel of how it applied and felt on my skin. For future applications, I believe that it would work so much better with a damp beauty blender.

On the first application I am not so sure it lives up to the expectations of the adverts where it completely covers up dark circles, breakouts and tattoos ... but it is exceptionally good, I have quite bad skin, a lot of imperfections and breakouts, however, I didn't need to apply much concealer afterwards which is a plus. It was the perfect matte base which is something I prefer to have with a foundation and the rest of my products applied so well.

Now, it says that it lasts up to 24 hours, it would be interesting to actually put that to the test but 12 hours later the foundation was pretty darn good and I wouldn't be thinking I needed to reapply it if I was venturing back out. Looking closely you could see that it had sunk in to my pores and these were fairly visible but who gets that close to your face anyway?

I've got to say that it could pip the post to become my favourite drugstore foundation yet! Somehow L'Oreal always manage to pull it out of the bag and create some fab products at affordable prices. If you have combination to oily skin and suffer with darkness, redness and imperfections then this is the foundation for you.

Have you tried this foundation yet?
