First Impressions - Revlon Colorstay Foundation

Buying a new foundation always makes for an interesting trip, one that could be a little stressful on the wrong day but one that I really enjoy. I love strolling up and down the beauty isles in Boots and Superdrug for hours on end looking at what products are new on the shelves and ones that I simply haven't tried before.

For a while now I have been loving a more of a matte base; it is much creamier and a heavier consistency which is great to cover the redness and imperfections I have been struggling with at the moment. the L'oreal Paris Fallible matte foundation and the Maybelline Dream Velvet soft-matte hydrating foundation are what I have been reaching for over the past couple of months, but I feel that my skin needs more hydration and to breath easier in the summer months.

I've previously used the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation and absolutely loved it, it was the right consistency and perfect match to my skin tone so I thought I would give this Revlon Colorstay foundation for combination/oily skin a whirl. This product blends wonderfully into the skin; it is light and watery making it easy for my skin to breath, the great thing about this foundation is that it is buildable to a heavier base to cover the imperfections.
The only downside for buying a foundation at a drugstore is getting the perfect match for my skin, the lighting inside stores tend to be very warm and yellow giving your skin a much warmer tint so you could match a darker shade but when you step out in natural light it is far too dark, well this happens an awful lot for me and I always have to blend it down my neck as most shades are too dark or too much of a yellow undertone, for me but somehow Revlon get it right and I have the perfect match - welcome to the world 150 Buff.

On a day that I am wanting a dewy complexion I add a little bit of my Benefit Dandelion Shy Beam or the Make Up Revolution Ultra Strobe Cream to give my face that extra glow.

Have you tried this foundation yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts and if you love it as much as I do!!
