Gold Tones Tutorial

I wanted to create a look around my new elf products to test them out, I did only end up using a couple of them in the end as the lipstick and eyeshadow would not have gone with the look I wanted to create.

Just a little statement: The eyes are much more gold in person, unfortunately I do not have the funds to buy one of the ring lights/ soft box *sad face* so I'm kind of trusting the natural light for my photos which is a little frustrating as I was basing the look around the eyes.

How to Create:

1. Apply a primer to the skin first, I used the Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer in 002.

2. I used my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 120 vanilla and mixed it on the back of my hand with Benefit Sun Beam to give that bit of a healthy summery glow. Make sure it is fully blended and you have no lines anywhere, I tend to use a stippling brush to do this job.

3. Focusing on the eyes next I used Liar and Factory from the Naked 3 Palette blended in to the crease of my eye, then going over this lightly with Darkside from the same palette into the crease. Make sure that this is all fully blended!!

4. Taking the shade Trick from the Naked 3 Palette using a different eye shadow brush I applied it to the lids of the eye. Then with the same brush I applied Mac Mythology eye shadow on top as it is very pigmented so it stands out.

5. Once happy with how the colours all blend together, I used the small flat end of the brush in the palette and dipped the end in Blackheart and steadily applied it to just above the lashline. This gives it a softer look rather than a harsh black liquid line from eye liner.

6. I curled my lashes and applied mascara, I'm still using the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, it is not the greatest if you want full looking lashes, so I apply it a fair few times.

7. Remove any loose powder that has dropped from applying eye shadow and then add concealer under the eyes to brighten them up and any problems areas. I once again used Collection Concealer in Cool Medium 2.

8. As I wanted quite a dewy look I applied Benefit Sun Beam again but to my cheekbones. Any liquid highlighters will give off a similar effect.

9.  My skin is a little oily in the T-Zone so I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 006 Warm Beige which also sets the base too.

10. Using my new bronzing brush from Elf, I took the bronze part of Benefit 10 and applied it just below my cheekbones, suck in you cheeks and create a little fish face which makes it so much easier to see where to apply the bronzer. I also used a little bit of Benefit Hoola on top and around my temples.

11. I have recently rediscovered Avon Face Pearls in my make up box, it has beautiful warm bronze/peachy pearls with pale pink/highlighter pearls too. I applied this to the apples of my cheeks with a mix of my new elf Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky which adds a little shimmer.

12. I took the elf shimmer in pink and placed it on my cheekbones, down the ridge of my nose, my cupids bow and the centre of my forehead lightly.

13. Once happy, I now concentrate on my brows, I always tend to leave them til last as I still tend to struggle with them. Using Benefit Brow zing I created a more fuller brow, obviously any product your using will have the same effect.

14. I finished the look off with my Rimmel lipstick in 006 Pink Blush.

I hope that this was helpful and you like the look, would love to hear what you think of it in the comments below.
